$5 Merlot
Black Swan
Australia
Albertons

This wine is a pretty standard Merlot. Fruity with berry notes and a slightly mapley finish. A few notes of figs and raisins are noticable after a few sips. This is a pretty decent merlot. I would buy it again.

I give this wine 4 out of 5 stars

Hey Chelsie,
I agree. I just picked up a bottle of Black Swan Merlot tonight and it is not bad. For the price it is pretty good. :)
I like it and would buy it again as well.

I quoted your review on my blog today. We seemed to have quite the different bottles of Black Swan Merlot! Mine was smoky and with tangy berries. Do you remember what vintage this was? I forget to mark down the vintage on mine and being as we are reviewing two years apart, that may account for the vast difference!
